Prayer

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me….”
Ephesians 6:18-19

Prayer is, first and foremost, intimacy with God: drawing close to God so God will, as He promises, draw close to you. (James 4:8) When we speak to God, listen to God, praise and thank God, apologize to God, petition God, or simply rest in His Presence, we are with Him. And “with God” is always the best place to be.

Prayer is also the release of God’s purpose and power on the earth. Scripture is filled with the extravagant promises of what the Lord will do “if the people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray….” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

During a three day personal retreat in 2000, the Lord told Doug to become a man of prayer. It is a call to pray and a call to stir the Body of Christ to more frequent, fervent and effective prayer.

When the Holy Spirit “fell” on the Tweed home in 2006, Christie received the calling and gifting of prophetic intercessor. Her life became a life a life of “prayer without ceasing”. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Christie went to heaven on September 5, 2020.  Doug continues to lead prayer services at the Resting Place every Sunday, 9:30-11 AM, and every Thursday, 7 PM.

Doug is also available for:

“Lord, Teach Us To Pray”, a three session prayer conference, with an instructional manual.
Teaching & modeling prayer through retreats, renewal services and bible studies.
Prayer & Counsel: a healing ministry for individuals and relationships
Leadership in organizing congregational and community prayer ministries.
